Pennsylvania Man John Stroud Charged With Counterfeiting Federal Reserve notes
John Stroud, 50, of Philadelphia, was charged by Indictment, unsealed today, with manufacturing, possessing, and selling counterfeit Federal Reserve Notes, announced United States Attorney Zane David Memeger. According to the indictment, Stroud manufactured, possessed, and sold approximately $4,990 in counterfeit notes and to another person for approximately $600.
If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 120 years imprisonment, three years of supervised release, a $1.5 million fine, and a $600 special assessment.
The case was investigated by the United States Secret Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Laurie Magid.
